Cyber Security Specialist Role Summary:

The Cyber Security Specialist plays a crucial part in maintaining the security and integrity of complex environments. This pivotal role ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cyber Security Operations: Oversee daily cyber security operations, including monitoring for security incidents and events, incident response, and threat management to maintain a secure environment.
  • Vulnerability Management: Coordinate vulnerability assessments and patch management processes to address security gaps and enhance system resilience.
  • Security Governance: Involved in governance reviews of ICT changes managed internally or by service providers.
  • Security Advisory: Conduct comprehensive security architecture reviews to identify and mitigate risks in system designs and provide appropriate security advice as part of ICT projects.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Experience: Extensive experience (5 to 10+ years) in Security Operations or advisory roles particularly in infrastructure and cloud environments is required.

Network Security: Experience working with network security devices including firewalls, WAFs, and other threat prevention appliances is essential.

Logging and Monitoring: Experienced in logging and monitoring with ability to support respective teams in fine tuning alerts in a SIEM solution.

Vulnerability Assessment: Proven track record in conducting/facilitating vulnerability assessment, patch management and coordinating remediation with business owners.

Security Architecture: Involved in security architecture reviews of infrastructure and cloud solutions catering to large user base.

Communication: Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
