Job Overview:

The position focuses on enhancing awareness of the Child Safe Standards and the Reportable Conduct Scheme within the Tasmanian community.

This role will drive cultural transformation by building organisational capacity to meet the Child Safe Standards and the Child and Youth Safe Organisations Act.

  • Provide strategic direction as a director, contributing to the leadership team of the Office of the Independent Regulator.
  • Develop communication strategies for the Office, preparing advice and tactics to address emerging stakeholder issues.
  • Lead the creation of a Community of Practice related to Child Safe Standards across the Tasmanian community.
  • Foster collaboration with government and non-government stakeholders on organisational compliance with child-related organisations under the Child Safe Standards and the Reportable Conduct Scheme.
  • Oversee education activities and presentations on the Office's operations, including website and communication materials.
  • Offer expert advice on effective engagement techniques and practices targeting stakeholders and members of the public.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of activities engaging with stakeholders and the wider community using qualitative and quantitative measures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To lead in developing and implementing strategies to promote the Child Safe Standards and the Reportable Conduct Scheme.
  • To work closely with stakeholders to ensure that they are aware of their obligations under the Child Safe Standards and the Reportable Conduct Scheme.
  • To provide guidance and support to staff to help them understand the Child Safe Standards and the Reportable Conduct Scheme.
  • To monitor and report on progress towards meeting the Child Safe Standards and the Reportable Conduct Scheme.
