About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team at Signet, a leading Australian-owned B2B manufacturer and distributor of industrial consumables. As a Data Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining our data architecture and systems, optimizing data flows across various applications and solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Management and Governance: Define and implement data strategy, policies, controls, and programs to ensure data accuracy, completeness, security, and reliability.
  • ETL Process Management: Maintain, refine, or create all ETL processes related to the data stack.
  • Data Ingestion and Transformation: Connect data sources, import data, and transform data for business intelligence.
  • Data Analytics Platform Support: Maintain and support data analytics platforms.
  • Leading Data Engineering Projects: Lead data engineering projects end-to-end, implementing and championing Data Engineering ways of working.
Requirements
  • Contemporary IT Application Development Methodologies: Knowledge of contemporary IT application development methodologies.
  • Relevant IT Degree or Certification: Relevant IT-related degree or certification/s. A degree in a related discipline is preferred.
  • Hands-on Data Engineering Expertise: At least 3 years of hands-on data engineering expertise. Experience in building a data ingestion, transformation, and egress framework will be highly advantageous.
  • DevSecOps Tools and Methodologies: Familiar working with DevSecOps tools and methodologies.
  • Strong SQL Background: Strong SQL background, particularly with the capability to write performant queries and troubleshoot performance.
