About the Opportunity

The Justice and Community Manager plays a pivotal role in facilitating prevention and diversionary programs in the Justice and Community fields. This position is responsible for the management of HOPE's Justice and ITC Programs, aiming to provide culturally competent, inclusive, and respectful services to meet the needs of clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support and expertise to staff working with high-risk or complex needs clients.
  • Represent HOPE in relevant external and internal forums, working groups, and committees to promote a positive image of HOPE.
  • Develop and/or review programs to ensure service access and responsiveness to people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
  • Identify service delivery gaps and plan strategies to address them.
  • Contribute to the effective functioning and development of the service through involvement in projects, team meetings, forums, and training and development.
  • Foster positive working relationships within the Aboriginal community.
  • Develop networks and service partnerships with other government agencies, organisations, funding bodies, and specialist organisations to position Aboriginal Throughcare for continued growth.
About You
  • Tertiary degree qualifications in social work, psychology, health, education, social science, or approved equivalent, with demonstrated experience in the field.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and reporting on operational systems for a health or community services organisation, including planning and allocating resources to maximise operational efficiency and meet funding deliverables.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing all aspects of staff and team performance, including recruitment, staff orientation, line management supervision, staff disciplinary action, performance development, and reviews, and team building.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with a diverse range of people and professionals and manage difficult situations.
  • Ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships at multiple levels.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the principles of accountability systems and continuous quality improvement processes.
Requirements
  • Australian residency/visa.
  • Satisfactory National Police check.
  • Working With Children card.
  • Current C or A class driver's license.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Suitable work referees.
  • Department of Justice clearance.
