Job Description

The Senior Project Engineer will oversee the daily execution of high-quality construction projects. This role is responsible for ensuring timely completion and adherence to documented specifications.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing comprehensive project schedules and communicating them to the team.
  • Project delivery from inception to completion, encompassing all aspects of construction management.
  • Maintaining and enforcing strict adherence to construction programs, emphasizing quality outcomes within set timeframes.
  • IDentifying and effectively managing risk throughout all projects, escalating concerns when necessary.
  • Overseeing project expenditures and cash flow to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Managing external engineering design aspects of projects, ensuring seamless integration with internal processes.
  • Effective design management practices are crucial in maintaining project efficiency.
  • Oversight of subcontractors on site, guaranteeing compliance with company standards.
  • Proper maintenance and implementation of HSEQ requirements across all projects.
  • Providing regular progress reports to stakeholders.
  • Delivering exceptional client experiences through proactive engagement and clear communication.
Qualifications and Requirements

This position demands a strong combination of skills and qualifications. Key requirements include:

  • Tertiary education in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related fields.
  • No less than 8 years of experience in delivering projects from start to finish, preferably with a builder/head contractor.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, focusing on building and motivating teams towards shared goals.
  • In-depth knowledge of local council and regulatory requirements/standards.
  • Strong proficiency in project financial reporting, using tools such as Excel to track expenses.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, facilitating effective collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
  • Adept interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with clients, colleagues, and vendors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications, leveraging technology to streamline project operations.
