Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at Atria Senior Living, Inc. As a key member of our food services team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals that meet the high standards of our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Execution: Collaborate with our Executive Chef and/or Executive Director to plan and prepare meals that cater to the diverse tastes and dietary needs of our residents.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment, adhering to strict health and safety protocols.
  • Inventory Management: Estimate and communicate daily or weekly food and supply needs to the Executive Chef/Sous Chef.
  • Meal Service: Participate in the preparation and cooking of meals according to established recipes and approved menus.
  • Quality Control: Document temperatures of food prior to service, refrigeration, and freezer temperatures to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Special Events: Assist with the preparation and execution of special events, banquets, and theme meals.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Language Skills: Communicate effectively in English with employees and residents, as well as read and write English.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years experience as a cook in a hospitality or healthcare environment.
  • Certifications: Food handlers permit as required by provincial law and/or Company standards.
  • Skills: Ability to read and follow recipes and printed production guides, cleaning schedules, and logs.
