Exciting Opportunity for a Skilled Construction and Maintenance Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction and Maintenance Worker to join our dynamic team at the City of Bunbury. As a key member of our Construction and Maintenance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality infrastructure projects and maintenance services to our community.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Operate a range of construction equipment, including excavators, front-end loaders, graders, and rollers, to perform road construction and maintenance tasks.
  2. Manage water trucks to control moisture content during road construction and perform other related tasks using a single-axle truck.
  3. Competently operate machinery such as skid-steer loaders, excavators, and graders for various construction and maintenance tasks, including excavation and earthmoving.
  4. Engage in the setup, operation, and finishing of concrete paths and other structures, including operating concrete cutting machines and setting up formwork.
  5. Prepare and lay drainage pipes, construct stormwater structures like side-entry pits, and operate laser levels for precise installations.
Requirements:
  1. Extensive experience in the construction and maintenance of roads, drainage, and paths.
  2. Proficiency in operating and maintaining a range of heavy plant and machinery, including excavators, graders, bobcats, rollers, and water trucks.
  3. Ability to read plans and work to levels for civil construction tasks.
  4. Possession of a White Card and a valid HR (Heavy Rigid) driver's license (or commitment to obtain within 6 months).
  5. Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
  6. A commitment to workplace safety and compliance with Work Health and Safety standards.
What We Offer:
  1. A competitive Level 3 salary of $74,529 (excluding superannuation).
  2. A full-time permanent position after a 3-month probationary period.
  3. 4 weeks of annual leave with 17.5% leave loading.
  4. Option to salary sacrifice additional superannuation, with the City matching up to 5%.
  5. Access to heavily reduced gym membership at the South West Sports Centre.
