Remote Census Engagement Manager Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Remote Census Engagement Manager to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in maximising participation in the Census by connecting with stakeholders and members of the community in regional and remote areas.

About the Role:

The Remote Census Engagement Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering Census engagement activities for their assigned region. This includes:

  • Developing and implementing targeted engagement plans to promote participation in the Census.
  • Maintaining records of engagement activities via our Stakeholder Management System.
  • Working collaboratively with other Census and ABS staff in the area to provide cultural considerations and/or area-level intelligence.
  • Gathering support for the Census from Local Government and community organisations, as well as key service providers.
  • Providing in-field assistance when required for Census operational activities.

Key Qualities and Experience:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Demonstrated experience or knowledge in working with or advocating for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • Ability to connect and engage with a range of service providers, communicate effectively, and develop strong working relationships.
  • Communicating sensitively and effectively to present information to both small and large groups or communities.
  • Capability to work independently, prioritise tasks with limited guidance, and make decisions independently.
  • Sound local area knowledge and the ability to read and navigate maps.
