
Cyber Security Innovator

As a DevSecOps Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in driving secure innovation at scale. You'll help shape how security is embedded in the culture and practices of modern software development.
This includes design, implementation, and maintenance of CI pipelines, security controls, monitoring solutions, and supporting software deployments.
You will ensure all software products are secure, reliable, and compliant with requirements.
The ideal candidate will leverage experience in virtual environments, containerisation, Infrastructure as Code, and security automation.
Additionally, you'll mentor teams of engineers, ensuring the adoption of DevSecOps best practices and principles.
Collaboration with software engineers, security specialists, and operational teams to embed security best practices is also expected.
Key Responsibilities:- Design, implement, and maintain continuous integration pipelines, security measures, monitoring solutions, and software deployments.
- Ensure compliance with client requirements by maintaining the reliability and security of software products.
- Utilize expertise in virtual environments, containerisation, infrastructure coding, and security automation.
- Mentor teams of engineers to adopt DevSecOps best practices and principles.
- Work collaboratively with software engineers, security specialists, and operational teams to embed security best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proficiency in building and managing continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like Jenkins and GitLab CI.
- Experience with container technologies (e.g., Docker and Kubernetes), artifact repositories (e.g., JFrog Artifactory), and container security best practices.
- Competent scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation and infrastructure coding.
- Exposure to other infrastructure coding tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix systems, networking concepts, and security principles.
- Familiarity with software development security tooling (e.g., SonarQube, Grype, JFrog Xray).
- Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Elastic Stack.
- Knowledge of the ASD Essential 8 and ISM and how to apply relevant controls.
- Experience with database administration (e.g., PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB).
- A strategic mindset for identifying and managing security risks across the software development lifecycle (SDLC), with an ability to develop risk mitigation strategies that align with enterprise objectives.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with emerging security threats, technologies, and industry best practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
