Job Title: Community Outreach Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Community Outreach Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will provide critical support to at-risk young people in the Perth CBD, engaging with them in public places and delivering assertive outreach using mobile vans and foot patrols.

As a key member of our team, your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing information, referrals, and practical support to young people at risk of homelessness.
  • Offering follow-up support for clients and their families using culturally secure and solution-focused approaches.
  • Delivering assertive outreach to young people in the Perth CBD.
  • Using your understanding of current youth issues to connect and engage with young people on the street.

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • A significant background in child, youth, and family services or AOD sectors.
  • Proven experience in assertive outreach work, engaging and supporting at-risk young people.
  • Ability to work with at-risk young people, including knowledge of child and adolescent development.
  • Strong assessment, general counselling, and crisis intervention skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
