Investigative Compliance Specialist

The primary objectives of this role include:
- Conducting thorough investigations into alleged breaches of legislation related to the building and construction industry.
- Preparing investigation plans and managing high-volume caseloads.
- Utilizing best-practice investigative techniques, including evidence matrix formulation, witness statement preparation, and record of interview conduct.
- Preparing briefs of evidence for use in disciplinary, civil, and criminal proceedings.
- Implementing proactive compliance initiatives, including job site audits, desktop audits, surveillance, and covert activities.
- Providing advice, support, guidance, and assistance to QBCC staff in their compliance functions.
- Assisting consumers, contractors, and industry stakeholders with building industry regulation-related inquiries.
- Contributing to the review and development of QBCC's operations and performance.
Desirable qualifications include:
- Certificate IV in Investigation or equivalent (e.g., Bachelor of Law).
- Minimum three years' investigative experience.
- Knowledge or experience in government investigations or various regulatory environments.

- **Results**: Building strong relationships with the industry and home owners to foster a culture of professionalism and compliance.
