Job Title: Strategic Planner

Overview

Shellharbour City Council is seeking highly skilled and motivated Strategic Planners to join its Strategic and Growth Planning team. The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering transformative projects that shape the future of the community.

  • Assist in developing strategic land use planning programs, policies, and documents.
  • Collaborate with council teams, external stakeholders, and the community on a wide range of planning and development matters.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A degree in Town Planning or industry equivalent qualifications is essential, along with experience in strategic planning and heritage or recreation planning.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve council's goals and objectives.
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform planning decisions.

  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver planning outcomes.
Qualifications
  • A degree in Town Planning or industry equivalent qualifications.
  • Experience in strategic planning, with added value in heritage or recreation planning.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
