Solutions Engineer Role Description:


GitHub is expanding its Corporate Solutions Engineering team and we're seeking experienced professionals to enhance our pre-sales support of corporate customers. As a Solutions Engineer, you'll align technology solutions with customer needs and serve as a trusted advisor. The ideal candidate will be a key partner in driving technology adoption and integration, helping customers maximize GitHub's value while gaining hands-on experience in solving complex technical challenges, deepening industry expertise, and influencing strategic decision-making.


Locations

In this role, you can work from anywhere, including Australia. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining technical relationships in the pre-sales stage with business customers and prospects, acting as a key technical point of contact to ensure customer satisfaction and product adoption. You'll also collaborate with the Corporate Sales team to identify customer business requirements, match them to product features, and provide live demonstrations of the GitHub Enterprise platform.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and maintain technical relationships with business customers and prospects.
  2. Collaborate with the Corporate Sales team to identify customer business requirements.
  3. Provide live demonstrations of the GitHub Enterprise platform.
  4. Communicate customer feedback to influence product strategy.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 4+ years' experience in technical consulting, technical consultative selling, or related technical/sales/industry experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at a business proficiency level in English and Mandarin.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years' experience in technical consulting, technical consultative selling, or related technical/sales/industry experience.
  • OR master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.

Industry Knowledge:

Maintain an up-to-date understanding of GitHub's product landscape, emerging trends in developer tools (e.g., Generative AI), and customer-specific challenges. Provide coaching and insights to internal teams based on industry expertise.


Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success in technical consultative selling, with the ability to engage in strategic discussions with customers and influence decision-making processes.
  • 1+ year(s) experience in digital transformation using software modernization to drive customer business outcomes.
