Homelessness Support Specialist

The Housing Initial Assessment and Planning service provides rapid crisis intervention and interim support to individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
- Provide quality assessment, referral, and housing information to clients.
- Develop plans to respond to client needs, risks, and vulnerabilities.
This role is focused on delivering exceptional client outcomes by working collaboratively with the broader programs to provide an integrated support response.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct initial assessments to identify client needs and develop a plan to address them.
- Provide referrals and housing information to support clients in finding stable accommodation.
- Collaborate with colleagues and external stakeholders to ensure a coordinated response to client needs.
- A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Welfare, or a related field; or significant relevant experience.
- Experience working with people with complex needs, demonstrating resilience, empathy, and professionalism.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
