Job Title: Despatch Operator

Mulgowie Farming Company is a leading horticultural business in Australia, specializing in the growing, packing, and marketing of fresh produce for domestic and export markets.

Job Summary

We are seeking a self-motivated and experienced forklift driver to join our despatch team based in Bowen. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our forklifts and machinery, as well as maintaining high standards of product quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate forklifts and machinery in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to company procedures and policies.
  • Load and unload trucks, containers, and other transport vehicles with forklifts, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of products.
  • Maintain strict product temperature control, utilizing and following correct management and practices.
  • Complete forklift pre-start checklists, logbooks, and key registers before operation, ensuring compliance with company procedures.
  • Support your Manager in building a cohesive team that reflects Mulgowie Farming Company's values.
  • Report any maintenance requirements in your area to the appropriate person, ensuring prompt resolution of issues.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures regarding despatch operations, ensuring compliance with Chain of Responsibility Laws.
  • Ensure compliance with procedures for the despatch of organic products or products for export.
  • Ensure the work area and equipment are safe and safe work practices are followed at all times.
  • Ensure all forklifts are checked, maintained, and preventative maintenance completed, and driven correctly by licensed operators.
  • Receive and store stock according to requirements, ensuring all receivals are accounted for and in good order.
  • Take note of performance feedback and act accordingly, demonstrating a willingness to learn and improve.
  • Perform all other reasonable duties as directed by Management, expected of someone within this position.
Requirements
  • Current Australian Forklift Licence
  • High level forklift operation experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Superior organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • High levels of attention to detail
  • Available to work early morning shift on a 5 to 6 days a week roster.
