About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Manager to join our team at Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour. As a Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving business growth and revenue through effective sales strategies and tactics.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead Generation and Conversion: Work closely with the Director of Sales to identify and pursue new business opportunities, maximizing lead generation and conversion of MICE business in line with hotel targets and strategy.
  2. Business Development: Manage business from an agreed segment across certain markets, which could be corporate companies, Government, and/or entertainment, to drive revenue growth and expand our customer base.
  3. Client Relationship Management: Maintain existing client/account base to ensure business is retained and developed where possible, providing exceptional customer service and building strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  4. Market Research and Intelligence: Conduct research to uncover new business opportunities, focusing particularly on desirable business and/or need periods, to stay ahead of the competition and drive business growth.
  5. Competitor Analysis: Identify new business opportunities through competitor analysis, knowing competitor accounts and target businesses to stay informed and adapt our sales strategies accordingly.
  6. Reporting and Communication: Submit reports on sales activities, competitor information, market trends, and any new opportunities as required, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders and driving business growth.
  7. Brand Knowledge and Understanding: Have a complete understanding of Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour's sales and service vision, its products, services, presentation of brand, and rate structure to fulfill business objectives.
  8. Collaboration and Liaison: Liaise with other Hotel Departments and within the Reservations, Conference and Events Department effectively to drive business growth and revenue.
Requirements
  1. Strong Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate with stakeholders and drive business growth.
  2. Experience and Qualifications: 1-3 years experience within a similar role, with a strong understanding of the hospitality industry and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
  3. Industry Knowledge: Have a high standard of grooming and presentation, with a strong understanding of the luxury hotel industry and its requirements.
