Job Description

This Commonwealth Government agency plays a vital role in ensuring Australia's biodiversity sustainability.

The Regulation Section's responsibilities include international policy, domestic regulation and policy, operational functions, and client services. They work with clients such as the high fashion industry, native species harvesters, exporters, and customs brokers.

The Assessments Section is the Australian Scientific Authority for CITES. It regulates commercial international trade from wildlife harvest programs, aquaculture and captive breeding, and non-commercial international trade of wildlife.

Key activities involve undertaking assessments, developing policy, providing advice for CITES, and operational functions including client services and issuing permits.
