Residential Support Specialist

We provide high-quality care and support within a 24-hour therapeutic residential setting to children and young people who are unable live with their families, kinship carers or foster carers.
Our goal is to stabilise young people and empower them to reach their potential in a long-term therapeutic setting.
We work closely with our Therapeutic Specialists, you will be part of a dedicated team to provide trauma-informed care and maintain a safe and welcoming home environment for young people.
- A salary commencing at SCHADS Level 3 and superannuation
- 17.5% leave loading

Paid parental leave (10 weeks) is available for eligible employees.
You'll also receive a discount on the childcare subsidy gap fee when using a Uniting Early Learning service or centre.

About YouTo be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention
- Or a recognised tertiary qualification in Youth Work, Community Services or a related discipline, plus completion of/willingness to undertake mandatory top-up training (4 Trauma-Informed Practice Units)
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates
- A current valid driver's licence
- A current Working with Children Check (employee status)
Previous experience working with children and young people with complex needs in an out-of-home care setting is preferred.
We're looking for someone who is willing to work on a flexible basis with active night shifts and/or sleepover shifts.
