As a Family Engagement Officer in the Coroners Court, you will be part of a supportive and professional team dedicated to providing culturally safe support to Koori people.

This role involves assisting with coronial investigations involving Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander deceased persons. You will offer culturally focussed advice and support to Coroners on aspects of their coronial investigations as requested.

A critical understanding and support of Woman's Business and Sorry Business within Victorian communities are essential for success in this position.

Key skills for this role include knowledge and understanding of the Victorian Koori community, including its society, culture, and the issues impacting it. Effective communication is also crucial, particularly when interacting with members of the Koori community in potentially difficult and complex situations.

To excel in this position, you will require highly developed written and verbal communication skills for liaising and engaging with diverse stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, enabling them to build strong relationships with community members and other stakeholders.

Additional requirements include the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, maintaining open lines of communication and ensuring effective information sharing.
