We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Custody Officer to join our team in South Hedland. As a Custody Officer, you will play a vital part in creating a safe and secure environment for detainees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the welfare needs of detainees are met while upholding a professional and respectful demeanor.
  • Participate in court activities for security requirements.
  • Manage conflict and communicate with empathy, making a positive impact on the lives of detainees.
  • Value diversity and display a fair and open-minded attitude towards detainees in custody.
  • Provide safety and security for Persons in Custody, staff, employees, and members of the public.
What We Offer
  • Unique Training Experience: Take advantage of the fully funded Certificate 3 in Correctional Services, enhancing your skills and opening doors to new opportunities.
  • Paid Training: Enjoy 6 weeks of fully paid training, equipping you with the necessary skills for this unique role.
  • Pay increase after training: Start at $27.35 during training, increasing to $29.50 post-training.
  • Regional Allowance: An extra $10,189 per annum spread over your fortnightly wage payments.
Requirements
  • Availability to train full time for 6 weeks in Perth (Fully Funded)
  • Commitment to a minimum of 12 months to obtain qualifications
  • The legal right to work in Australia
  • Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical, including a drug & alcohol test
