Job Description

The Manager Engineering and Assets is responsible for leading the delivery of high-quality infrastructure and asset management outcomes for the community. This role will lead the design, delivery and management of Council's infrastructure assets including roads, footpaths, kerb and gutter, stormwater networks and marine structures.

This position leads strategic asset management planning, oversees the Capital Works program and ensures the effective application of engineering excellence in project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and mentor the Engineering Services team to deliver high-quality projects.
  • Act as asset owner for multiple asset classes ensuring compliance with relevant policies, strategies and plans.
  • Develop and implement Asset Management Systems and Maintenance Management Systems.
  • Oversee complex civil infrastructure designs and provide authoritative technical advice to stakeholders.
  • Deliver effective project management including procurement, contract administration and budget control.
  • Engage in high-level consultation and liaison with residents, government agencies contractors and elected officials.
Requirements

This role requires a degree in Civil Engineering and Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status with Engineers Australia. Demonstrated experience in civil and building design, asset management and delivery of civil works programs is essential. Strong leadership skills with experience managing professional engineering teams are also required.
