About the Opportunity

The Wingecarribee Shire Council is seeking a skilled professional to join its Integrated Risk Management team as a Return to Work Officer. This role is responsible for effectively managing the Council's Injury Claims and influencing return to work outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Actively manage the Council's Workers Compensation portfolio, including the development of injury prevention strategies to minimize Lost Time Injury numbers and frequency.
  2. Contribute to the development of return-to-work programs and early intervention strategies to ensure excellence in customer service and best practice.
  3. Lead the coordination of workers compensation claims management processes and provide advice on workers compensation claims management and rehabilitation issues.
  4. Develop and implement strategies to reduce reoccurrence of workplace injuries and ensure compliance with workers compensation legislative standards and guidelines.
  5. Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve required outcomes within specified deadlines and time frames.
Requirements
  1. Return to Work Accreditation and significant experience in return-to-work coordination, occupational therapy, rehabilitation, or return to work.
  2. Demonstrated experience in conducting workplace investigations and developing concise reporting of findings.
  3. Ability to interpret and apply workers compensation legislative standards and guidelines.
  4. Highly developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  5. Ability to lead, persuade, negotiate, consult with, and provide advice on workers compensation claims management and rehabilitation issues.
  6. Current Drivers Licence (Class C).
