Acute Mental Health Specialist Role

At a regional health service in Australia, we are seeking experienced mental health professionals to provide community-based assessment and treatment for individuals experiencing acute mental illness and/or substance use issues.

About the Role:

  • This is an exciting opportunity for skilled clinicians to work in a fast-paced environment, assessing and treating clients with complex needs.
  • You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, working closely with other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' mental health and substance use issues, identifying areas of concern and developing targeted treatment plans.
  • Provide individualized interventions, including counseling, education, and support, to help clients achieve their goals and improve their overall well-being.
  • Collaborate with clients' primary care providers and other relevant stakeholders to ensure seamless care coordination and transitions.

Requirements:

  • Registration as a Psychiatric Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, or Clinical Psychologist with the relevant Australian health professional body.
  • Proven experience working in mental health and substance use services, with a strong understanding of trauma-informed care principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
