Perth, Western Australia UGL Full time

We are changing the way Australia generates its energy, and we're looking for a passionate Senior Indigenous Participation Advisor to support our CopperString 2032 project.

The project will deliver approximately 840 kilometres of new transmission line from Townsville to Mount Isa, connecting Queensland's North West Minerals Province to the national electricity grid. Our team is committed to creating meaningful opportunities for Indigenous peoples, businesses, and communities through inclusive procurement, employment, and training initiatives.

In this role, you will contribute to developing and implementing Indigenous participation strategies to foster employment, training, and business opportunities. You will collaborate with internal teams, including Procurement, HR, project managers, construction teams, and community engagement specialists.

You will build strong relationships with community members, organisations, and service providers, working closely with the procurement team to identify suitable Indigenous businesses to engage with. Additionally, you will work with the HR team on recruitment and workforce development initiatives to support Indigenous participation.

Based in Brisbane, travel to the project region will be required regularly to ensure indigenous participation deliverables are achieved.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience working in Indigenous engagement, diversity, or community relations, ideally within construction, engineering, or related industries.
  • A strong understanding of Indigenous culture, challenges, and opportunities related to employment and training.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • An ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of relevant frameworks, policies, and agreements that guide Indigenous participation in employment and procurement.

The estimated salary for this role is between $95,000 and $115,000 per annum, depending on experience.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about creating inclusive work environments and supporting Indigenous peoples. If you have the necessary skills and qualifications, please submit your application.
