Our College Counsellor provides a specialized student and adolescent counseling wellbeing service at our college, utilizing counselling expertise in education to support and build the capacity of our school community towards shared goals.

Working as part of a collaborative team led by our Director of Counselling - Psychologist, alongside our Student Support Officer and Intensive Behaviour and Trauma Support Officer, you will provide expert advice on social, emotional, and educational difficulties of students and staff.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing individual and group support to students and families
  • Liaising with colleagues in the area of student wellbeing at the college
  • Consulting with external agencies such as community health centres, adolescent mental health services, and private counseling services

As a professional in this role, you will be committed to ongoing development, staying up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in the field. You will also be expected to contribute to a healthy and safe work environment for yourself and others, adhering to all safe work policies and procedures.

Requirements include a strong interest in how people think and behave, excellent communication skills, and the ability to relate to and empathize with a range of people.
