Job Opportunity

We are seeking a talented and motivated Journalist to join our newsroom in Orange.

The Opportunity:

This is an exciting chance for a driven individual to work with Australia's leading broadcast media organisation and further develop their journalism skills.

As a Journalist, you will be responsible for sourcing and writing broadcast news in our vital Mackay news market.

  • Generate original daily story ideas for on-air presentations.
  • Interviewing, writing and voicing.
  • Develop and maintain contacts in the community.
  • Research and prepare news reports.
  • Create an effective and respectful rapport with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience writing news stories.
  • Tertiary qualification in journalism or communications.
  • Exceptional communication and written skills.
  • The ability to work to very tight deadlines.
  • An understanding of Broadcast Law Guidelines.
