About the Role

Mater Misericordiae Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Professional Mental Health Specialist to join its team at the Queensland Centre of Excellence in Autism and Intellectual Disability Health.

Job Summary

This permanent, part-time (15.5 hours per week) position will be based at our South Brisbane campus. The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership and expertise at a senior practice level to ensure patients receive patient-centred and evidence-based care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical assessment and treatment within the specialty of intellectual and developmental disability across the age spectrum.
  • Implementing change to clinical practice, educating health professionals, and developing undergraduate curriculum in intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
  • Initiating research and quality improvement activities to improve the health and wellbeing of those with IDD.
Requirements
  • A Degree or equivalent qualification that gives eligibility for full membership of Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • Post-registration experience in Social Work preferably in IDD, managing junior social work staff and students.
  • National Criminal Record Check and Working with Children Check prior to commencing employment.
  • A current, full drivers' licence appropriate for the type of vehicle being driven.
  • Postgraduate qualification or working towards in a relevant field.
  • Experience in working with people with IDD.
  • Outpatient/community or outreach experience.
  • Sound knowledge of NDIS application, process, and review.
  • Working towards mental health accreditation with AASW.

Salary: $60,010 - $64,540 per annum (HP4), plus an increase on 1 September 2024, plus 11.5% superannuation.
