We are seeking a skilled Precision Machinist to join our team as a Quality Assurance Specialist at our Edinburgh Parks facility in South Australia. As a key member of our Advanced Manufacturing line of business, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the production of high-quality precision-machined components for our Defence customers.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for inspecting precision-machined components using various methods, including coordinate measuring machines and manual techniques. You will work closely with the Advanced Machining team to uphold quality standards and ensure that all products meet dimensional and acceptance standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Operating, setting up, and monitoring CMM machines efficiently.
- Conducting precise manual inspections with micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other tools.
- Analysing engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accuracy.
- Documenting inspection data, generating detailed reports, and maintaining records.
- Supporting troubleshooting efforts to optimize CMM machine performance.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or recognized.
- Experience in operating CMMs within a machining environment.
- Skilled in manual inspection techniques using micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.
- Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Capable of identifying and documenting non-conformances in production.
As a Quality Assurance Specialist with BAE Systems, you can expect:
- A competitive salary of $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, plus superannuation.
