We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at Casa Bar and Restaurant. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading the kitchen operations and ensuring the highest quality of food is served to our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the overall operations of the kitchen, including menu planning, inventory management, and staff supervision.
- Determine the presentation of food and create visually appealing displays.
- Inspect raw ingredients to ensure quality and usability.
- Maintain skills and knowledge relevant to job duties and prepare menu items.
- Plan and estimate food and commodity costs.
- Prioritize menus, recipes, and task sheets, and manage budgeting and cost controls.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and training to kitchen staff.
- Utilize kitchen utensils, appliances, and cookware to prepare ingredients and meals.
- Prepare raw ingredients, including meat and vegetables, using various cutting and marinating techniques.
- Meet with customers to discuss menus for special occasions.
- Monitor and regulate heat and cold sources to ensure food quality.
- Maintain product, service, and market knowledge, and take pride in food presentation.
- Take feedback from customers and work with management to improve efficiency, quality, and productivity of food.
- Guide kitchen staff with cooking procedures and recipes to fit special dietary requirements.
- Manage storage and food preservation to reduce wastage.
- Serve and portion foods, and add garnishes and other ingredients as necessary.
- Prepare and flavor sauces with condiments, herbs, spices, and other ingredients.
- Follow safety and hygiene regulations and procedures around food handling, storage, and preparation.
- Ensure the cleanliness of workstations and kitchen areas, and abide by occupational health and safety procedures.
We are looking for a candidate with:
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a Chef.
- Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery.
- Supervisory skills.
- Confident approach and results-driven attitude.
- Flexibility with hours and approach.
- Good communication and technology skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure to deliver timely and quality results.
Salary range between $70,000 to $85,000 plus superannuation will be paid based on experience and skills to deserving candidates.
