About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join NSW Health as a Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 in the Safety Culture and Disaster Coordinator role. As a key member of the team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the workplace has a focus on embedding behaviors and practices that minimize risk to employees, patients, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to the District Disaster Manager and District Hubs with emergency management arrangements, planned events, and incident response.
  • Communicate and build relationships with stakeholders within and external to NSW Health.
  • Lead and coordinate training and education, and facilitate exercises and drills at local and LHD level, with a focus on Code Black arrangements.
  • Provide operational support during activation of local, district, and state emergency management plans and recovery processes.
Requirements
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications or working towards same; and/or extensive professional experience deemed appropriate by the Employer.
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Evidence of or working towards relevant emergency management education and training.
  • Proven skills in the application of adult education principles and working with teams to improve workplace culture.
  • Working knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply policies, regulations, and standards.
  • Proven skills in the development and implementation of relevant policy, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, written, and verbal communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • A sound understanding of risk management principles as applied to emergency management, and a sound knowledge and understanding of associated Work Health & Safety legislation and quality principles.
  • Current NSW Class C Drivers Licence.
