Therapeutic Youth Support Specialist Role

Meaningful impact on young lives, providing nurturing care and mentorship in a therapeutic environment.

The role involves delivering direct support, care and guidance to Young People aged 12-17 years residing in our residential care homes, which provide a safe and supportive space for healing and growth. The specialist will work collaboratively with the team to ensure seamless delivery of services, catering to individual needs and preferences.

Responsibilities include:

  • Direct provision of emotional support, care and mentorship to Young People in line with their individual needs and goals.
  • Assisting with daily routines such as wake-up times, personal care, meal preparation, homework supervision and recreational activities.
  • Transportation support to attend scheduled appointments and events.
  • Facilitating family involvement through supervised contact visits and maintaining open communication with parents/caregivers.
Key Requirements:
  • A relevant Diploma or Bachelor's degree qualification in a field related to youth care and development, or equivalent experience and skills.
  • Proven ability to form and maintain professional relationships with Young People who have experienced trauma, abuse and neglect.
  • Flexibility to adapt to varying shifts, including weekend, night and sleepover shifts, ensuring comprehensive coverage at all times.
  • Current vaccination against COVID-19 or hold a valid medical exemption certificate.
