**About the Position**

The University of Melbourne's Melbourne Veterinary School is seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as a Lecturer in Small Animal Clinical Studies. This pivotal role plays a key part in providing outstanding teaching and clinical service, shaping the next generation of veterinary professionals.

As a member of our Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences, you will contribute significantly to the education and learning of our students, with a particular focus on small animal diagnostic imaging. Your expertise will drive innovation in our curriculum, ensuring our graduates are equipped to excel in their careers.

We're looking for someone who can deliver high-quality teaching content, develop engaging tutorials and workshops, and provide clinical teaching during student rotations. You'll also be expected to participate in leadership and service within the University and broader community, collaborating with partnering veterinary practices to integrate academic and clinical experiences.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering teaching and training content to all years of the DVM, particularly DVM4, developed by external educational providers, and working closely with these providers to ensure a strong working relationship.
  • Participating in training provided by external educational providers to achieve required levels of skills, knowledge, and competency to successfully deliver externally-provided educational and training materials, maintaining currency with professional practice.
  • Making independent and innovative contributions to teaching and learning at all levels of the DVM, including workplace integrated learning in DVM4, enhancing student learning and experience.
  • Working flexibly across clinical disciplines to provide support for DVM4 workplace integrated learning (core and track clinical rotations) through student inductions, clinical rounds, mentoring students, being a point of contact for students and staff, and collating and delivering formative and summative feedback to students.
  • Delivering teaching and assessment in various settings by conducting tutorials, lectures, practical demonstrations, seminars, computer-based learning exercises, and laboratory-based workshops that may extend to individual consultations and provision of online resources.
  • Providing excellent veterinary services to patients and clients, ensuring clinical services meet national and international accreditation standards.
