Therapy Assistant Role

We are seeking a skilled Therapy Assistant to join our aged care team at Montefiore. As a Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care to residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct small group exercise classes under the guidance of our Physiotherapist.
  • Monitor and report changes in residents' conditions that affect their health, comfort, safety, and wellbeing programs.
  • Utilise your experience working within allied health and rehabilitation to contribute to and support lead allied health professionals within the department.

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience working within Aged Care or an acute hospital setting within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Effective teamwork and adept interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading exercise classes.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accurate documentation skills relevant to an Aged Care, care planning setting.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and ability to form strong rapport and relationships with consumers and staff.
  • Display a high level of initiative and pride in supporting the team and consumers we look after.
  • Mental Health and Dementia awareness.
  • Minimum of a Certificate III in Aged Care.
  • Senior First Aid Certificate.

You will be a team player with strong clinical capabilities, demonstrate initiative, have excellent interpersonal skills, and a genuine passion for working within the aged care sector.
