Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $69,500 to $83,400 per annum, plus 11% superannuation. Additionally, we provide a generous leave provision package, including 20 days paid annual leave, 15 days sick leave/carer's leave, health and wellbeing leave, long service leave after 5 years, additional purchased leave, parental leave (18 weeks full pay/36 weeks half pay), paternity leave (2 weeks), and recognition of service.

Job Description

This role provides a unique opportunity for an experienced governance professional to join our team and contribute to the development of our organizational governance framework. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing guidance, advice, and support to the new Start Smart Program, which aims to welcome back Councillors to Central Coast Council and establish/improve systems to meet organizational and legislative governance requirements.

The role involves reviewing and supporting governance matters, including policy management, staff delegations, Code of Conduct, and legislative compliance registers. You will also be responsible for providing quality customer service and creating value for the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with and provide support to the Start Smart Program
  • Use judgment to balance organizational compliance with legislative requirements
  • Assist the Governance Section with reporting for all governance matters, including policies, delegations, and legislative compliance registers
  • Assist the Governance Section with the proactive release of information in accordance with relevant legislation, including the GIPA Act, PPIP Act, and Copyright Act
