Key Risk and Compliance Role

A fast-paced consumer lending FinTech is seeking a seasoned Risk & Compliance Officer to lead its risk and compliance frameworks.

Job Description:

This role involves overseeing the design, maintenance, and operation of risk and compliance frameworks across various risk types. You will work closely with senior leadership to identify, assess, and manage business risks. Your responsibilities will include monitoring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, preparing regular risk reports for the CEO and Board, and promoting a proactive, risk-aware culture across the business.

  • Design, maintain, and oversee risk and compliance frameworks across credit, operational, conduct, data/privacy, and reputational risk
  • Work with senior leadership to identify, assess and manage business risks
  • Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies
  • Prepare and present regular risk reports to the CEO and Board
  • Promote a proactive, risk-aware culture across the business
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong risk and compliance experience in financial services, ideally consumer lending
  • Proven leadership skills and a pragmatic, commercial approach to managing risk
  • Solid understanding of relevant regulations including NCCP and RG209
  • Experience designing and implementing risk management frameworks from scratch
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Tertiary qualifications and/or industry certifications preferred
  • Experience in a FinTech start-up or scale-up is highly desirable
  • Previous experience as a Responsible Manager under an ACL is a bonus
