Medicinal Cannabis Business Opportunity

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Commercial Counsel to join our leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a rapidly growing business in the emerging medicinal cannabis industry.

About the Role

The Commercial Counsel will play a key role in driving commercial success while ensuring governance and regulatory requirements are met. The ideal candidate will have 10 years post-admission experience, preferably in-house for a large corporation or in a top-tier firm. AICD Company Secretary qualification or 5+ years performing this function for a high-growth business is also essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide sound commercial and legal advice to the executive management team on contract reviews, negotiations, and disputes.
  • Manage risk and ensure compliance with corporate governance regulations and other regulatory matters.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor internal compliance frameworks, including governance policies.
  • Participate in M&A and funding transactions, ensuring shareholder, customer, and employee interests are protected or grown.
Requirements
  • 10 years post-admission experience, preferably in regulated industries such as healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or cannabis.
  • AICD Company Secretary qualification or 5+ years performing this function for a high-growth business.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
