As Senior Commercial Counsel at DBG Health, you will provide expert legal guidance to the IPA and AXE Health divisions, supporting business strategy and ensuring compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations. You will draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements, manage legal risks, and act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders. This role requires strong commercial acumen, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while also mentoring legal team members.

• Provide timely, business-focused legal advice on a range of commercial matters for the IPA and AXE Health divisions.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements, including supply, distribution, consulting, and licensing contracts.
• Manage the full contract lifecycle, from drafting through to execution and ongoing management.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver commercially sound and legally compliant agreements.
• Lead the development and implementation of risk management strategies and frameworks.
• Provide legal leadership in managing employee and employment law-related matters.
• Mentor and support the development of the paralegal to enhance legal practice skills and business outcomes.
• Identify opportunities to improve legal processes, templates, and operational efficiency.

• Legal qualification with at least 8+ years post-qualification experience (PQE).
• Current Australian practising certificate.
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical law, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
• Proven expertise in developing and implementing risk management frameworks, policies, and strategies.
• Demonstrated experience providing commercial legal advice and managing legal risks in complex environments.
• Skilled in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a range of commercial agreements (supply, distribution, consulting, licensing).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess and mitigate risks effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to explain complex legal concepts clearly to varied stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and make sound commercial judgements in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills to influence, motivate, and develop legal team members.
• Significant experience in a legal or regulatory role within the pharmaceutical industry (highly regarded).
• Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships at all organisational levels.
• High level of commercial acumen and alignment of legal advice with business strategy.
• Willingness to travel occasionally within Australia.
