
Care Specialist in Neurology

We seek a skilled Neurology Care Specialist who will demonstrate knowledge and skills in the four domains: clinical, education, research, and leadership, integrated across four clinically focused standards. Key duties include assessing using diagnostic capability, planning care, engaging others, prescribing and implementing therapeutic interventions, and supporting health systems. Comprehensive health assessment, initiation and interpretation of diagnostic investigations to inform clinical decision-making, forming diagnoses, planning care, and therapeutic interventions using evidence-based knowledge are essential elements of this role.
Key Responsibilities:- To assess patients using diagnostic capability, plan care, engage others, prescribe and implement therapeutic interventions, and support health systems.
- Comprehensive health assessment, initiation and interpretation of diagnostic investigations to inform clinical decision-making, forming diagnoses, planning care, and therapeutic interventions using evidence-based knowledge.
- Demonstrate knowledge and expertise in complex client-centered consultancy, practice development activities, including mentoring, education, participation in communities of practice, policy development, and quality improvement.
- Advanced clinical leadership, negotiation, liaison, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills across Neurology.
- Able to work with autonomy and accountability while also collaborating in a multidisciplinary and multi-service environment.
- Recent experience in the specialty field in an acute care facility.

- Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia including endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner or enrolled in an NMBA approved Nurse Practitioner program of study.
- Post graduate qualifications at Masters level, in an NMBA approved program of study or working towards same.
- Demonstrated high level knowledge and advanced clinical nursing skills including comprehensive assessment, interpretation of diagnostics, implementation of treatment modalities, and relevant referral skills applied to a broad range of challenging, complex, and changing situations.
- Understanding of the Neurology care delivery system and ability to lead and implement changes and develop direction in clinical practice with initiation, utilisation, and review of evidence-based research.
- Knowledge and expertise in complex client-centered consultancy, practice development activities including mentoring, education, participation in communities of practice, policy development, and quality improvement.
- Advanced clinical leadership, negotiation, liaison, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills across Neurology.
- Able to work with autonomy and accountability while also collaborating in a multidisciplinary and multi-service environment.
