The Laboratory Technician role is essential for performing analyses on water and wastewater to ensure process control, adherence to Australian Drinking Water Guidelines, and compliance with EPA Licence conditions, while also monitoring environmental impacts.

You will work across Central Coast Council's Treatment Plants, with some field sampling as part of your responsibilities.

The Laboratory Technician position requires maintaining the laboratory to uphold high standards of analytical operations and deliver value to the community.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Plan and execute routine and non-routine sampling and testing activities Analyze various water samples using physical, chemical, and microbiological methods, documenting results in relevant databases and systems. Test outcomes support the operations of the Council's treatment facilities, catchments, and water and sewerage networks, and may also benefit other areas such as environmental and health services Ensure the laboratory is consistently organized and maintained, including monitoring and managing laboratory supplies to meet both routine and non-routine testing needs

Candidate Profile:

Possess an Associate Diploma in Laboratory Technology or a related field, or have demonstrated experience in a comparable role Hold a Current Class C Driver's License Have a Valid Construction General Induction card- NSW SafeWork or be willing to obtain one Enjoy sharing knowledge and expertise while also learning from colleagues Value work/life balance

This role offers a competitive salary range of $69.5k to $83.4k per annum, depending on skills and experience, plus 11% superannuation.
