**About Us**

We are Canva, a global leader in graphic design, and we're looking for a skilled Cloud Architect to join our Data Platform team.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will design and implement a declarative infrastructure management framework for our data platform (Snowflake and AWS) to enable self-service data pipeline and analytics development by our data community.

About the Role
  • Data Infrastructure Management: Design and implement a declarative infrastructure management framework for our data platform.
  • Automated Governance: Build out automated governance for our data platform across all data workloads.
  • Data Access Controls: Uplift & iterate data access controls framework towards finer grain controls and policy-based access controls.
  • Development Practices: Improve development practices through improvement to testing strategies and frameworks.
  • Talent Development: Contribute towards the growth of our data platform teams, including hiring, onboarding, and training of fellow engineers.
  • Tooling and Engineering: Engage our data community to improve data platform capabilities and tooling.

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Commercial Experience: Five-plus (5-8+) years of commercial experience developing complex applications in Python.
  • Architecture and Design: Architecture and design experience for modern MPP cloud-based data platforms and warehouses, Snowflake and AWS preferred.
  • Infrastructure Resource Management: Implementing data platform infrastructure resource management framework using Infrastructure as Code declaratively (e.g., Terraform).
  • Testing Frameworks: Experience improving testing frameworks and strategies, e.g., unit testing and integration testing.
  • Data Governance: Prior experience building, uplifting data governance capabilities, including managing lineage, classification, treatment, access control, sovereignty, and more.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $140,000 - $200,000 per year, depending on experience, plus equity packages, inclusive parental leave policies, annual Vibe & Thrive allowances, and flexible leave options.
