Job Overview


The Belgravia Leisure venue at ACT is seeking an experienced Venue Manager to lead the team in delivering exceptional customer experiences.


You will be responsible for managing this fantastic seasonal facility, the team at the Centre, and our local community. You will develop and execute plans through engagement with the Centre's leadership team, key stakeholders, and the local Council.


With experience in sales, financial, and risk management, you will drive the Centre's success by achieving performance targets and maintaining high-value relationships.


Responsibilities


  • Ensure visitor and employee safety through effective planning and oversight of policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Coach and develop leaders to deliver on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) through engagement, performance planning, and individual development plans.
  • Lead a high-performance culture through highly visible and hands-on leadership and team engagement.
  • Maintain facilities to approved standards in line with contract requirements.
  • Recruit diverse employees to complement the team and vision for the Centre.
  • Train staff to ensure knowledge and capability are at required levels.
  • Identify staff career progression paths leading to transparent succession decisions when required.

Essential Skills And Qualifications


  • Experience in managing or leading in a similar leisure or aquatic facility.
  • Highly developed communication skills with a flair for positive influencing and negotiating outcomes.
  • Sound knowledge of health and safety legislation.
  • Experience in planning and execution of operational, financial, and people plans to successful outcomes.
  • CPR Certificate (or ability to complete).
  • First Aid Certificate (Level 2) (or ability to complete).
  • National Police Check.
  • Working with Vulnerable People.
  • Legal working rights in Australia.
  • Poll Lifeguard Certificate (or ability to complete the course).
  • Pool Operations Certificate (highly regarded).
