Role Overview

The Department for Education is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead the development and consolidation of high-quality, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed mental health service delivery in South Australian schools.

Key Responsibilities

The Principal Mental Health Practitioner will provide leadership and contribute to a clinical governance framework for the school mental health service. They will also guide the development of a team of practitioners and establish and maintain collaborative relationships with key stakeholders.

Essential Qualifications
  • A Bachelor qualification or specialist/postgraduate qualification in Social Work, Occupational Therapy, and/or Psychology.
  • Registration with the requisite professional body where applicable.
  • Eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers.
Desirable Qualifications

Specialist qualifications in mental health service provision.

Working Conditions

The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services working with children check prior to being employed. They will also be required to undertake Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse, and Neglect - Education Care (RRHAN-EC) training.

Remuneration

AHP4 salary range: $114,314 - $124,449 per annum.
