About the Role:

This role requires an individual with a passion for maintaining and repairing civil infrastructure, including roads, pathways, and other community assets. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading small teams to execute maintenance tasks on Council's infrastructure assets.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in civil and/or transport infrastructure maintenance, with some experience in team leadership. They will also possess strong communication skills for effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders, as well as proficiency with relevant technology and capability to handle basic administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and repairing civil infrastructure, including roads, pathways, and other community assets
  • Leading small teams to execute maintenance tasks on Council's infrastructure assets
  • Identifying and allocating necessary resources/materials for task completion and detecting defect causes in assets to propose effective and prompt solutions
  • Using technology/software to update and manage work orders and administrative tasks
  • Performing a variety of general labouring duties, including removal of debris, fixing and replacing signs, repairing road defects, and addressing traffic island defects

Requirements:

  • Current truck licence (minimum medium rigid - MR)
  • Construction Induction card or willingness to obtain prior to commencement
  • Traffic Management Implementation licence and high risk work dogging (HRW DG) licence or willingness to obtain within 6 months of commencement
  • Certificate III in Civil Construction or similar qualification in a relevant field (highly desirable)
