Accounts Receivable Officer Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Officer to join our team in Ingleburn, NSW. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for managing customer accounts, ensuring timely payments, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process and post customer payments accurately and efficiently
  • Investigate unallocated payments and resolve account management issues
  • Make outbound calls to debtors to resolve payment issues and improve customer relationships
  • Prepare and send invoices and statements to clients, and follow up on outstanding balances
  • Maintain accurate records of all transactions and communications related to accounts receivable
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and respond to customer inquiries in a timely manner
  • Investigate and resolve complex problems related to accounts receivable
  • Arrange and process overdue payments, and tailor support for customers based on their unique situations
  • Collaborate with management and the sales team to address customer inquiries and billing issues
  • Onboard new debtor accounts, conduct credit checks, and set credit limits for new and existing customers
  • Contribute to process improvements to enhance the efficiency of accounts receivable functions
Requirements:
  • Diploma or degree in Accounting and Finance or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role, with a focus on credit and collections
  • Experience with MYOB system is a must-have
  • Intermediate Excel knowledge and great verbal and written skills
  • Past experience in the construction industry is desirable but not required
  • Able to start within 2 weeks or open to someone with a longer notice period
  • Must have full work rights in Australia
