About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Fire Service Community Safety Officer to join our team in NSW. As an On-Call Firefighter, you will work from your local Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) Fire Station, responsible for undertaking a wide range of duties including community fire safety work, attending fires and other emergencies, community education on fire prevention and safety, and collaboration with other emergency services.

You will be paid for attendance at incidents, training sessions, community safety and education activities. This role plays a crucial part in protecting people, property and the environment in local communities.

To be successful in this role, you need to be team oriented, community-focused, adaptable, reliable and have availability across weekdays and/or weekends, including day and/or night work. You must also live and/or work within a reasonable distance of the FRNSW Fire Station.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake community fire safety work
  • Attend fires and other emergencies
  • Conduct community education on fire prevention and safety
  • Collaborate with other emergency services
  • Participate in training sessions and drills

Requirements:

  • Valid NSW Driver's Licence (minimum P1)
  • Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
  • Live and/or work within a reasonable distance of the FRNSW Fire Station
