Clinical Behaviour Support Specialist


About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Behaviour Support Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will work with participants of all ages and their support teams to develop intervention plans and recommendations that will help to reduce challenging behaviours.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop comprehensive intervention plans and recommendations to mitigate challenging behaviours.
  • Collaborate with participants and their support teams to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Design, implement, and review participant outcomes in alignment with NDIS funding requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • DHHS Senior Practitioner Behaviour Support NDIS Practitioner Identification Number or provisional suitability.
  • Meet the necessary qualifications to work as a Behaviour Support Practitioner under the National Disability Insurance Scheme Commission's Positive Behaviour Support Capability framework.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • Working with Children Check and Police Check clearance.
  • 100 points of identification.
  • NDIS Workers Orientation Module 'Quality, Safety and You' completion.
  • Registered Australian Business Number.
  • Professional indemnity insurance (minimum $1 million) and public liability insurance (minimum $10 million).
  • CPR and First Aid certification.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or Allied Health field.
  • Current registration with AHPRA or AASW.
  • Prior experience in conducting behavioural assessments and developing support plans for NDIS participants.
  • In-depth knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support approaches.
