About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Technical Standards and Architecture to join our team at the Australian Public Service Commission. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in shaping the digital transformation of the Australian Government.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of ICT capability-focused professionals in a fast-paced, geographically dispersed, maturing, and results-driven environment to achieve the organization's strategic objectives.
  • Utilize strong ICT architecture expertise to lead and shape the strategic delivery of the organization's vision, including driving forward a program of work to mature the organization's domain and capabilities and to embed it into the Investment Oversight Framework (IOF).
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders and subject matter experts to consolidate existing or develop and implement new technical content across all organization domains and capabilities.
  • Evaluate and, where required, uplift existing technical content to ensure currency, relevance, and value for Australian Government agencies undertaking digital investments.
  • Champion and continuously improve processes in line with changing business requirements and strategic priorities to support the organization's vision.
  • Coordinate and prepare briefings, submissions, new policy proposals, and other products for senior executives and ministers.
  • Other tasks as directed by senior executives.
Requirements
  • Security Clearance level required: Baseline (or ability to obtain and maintain).
  • To be eligible for employment, applicants must be an Australian citizen.
  • An applicant's suitability for employment will be assessed through a pre-employment screening process, which includes an Australian Police check.
