Doorways Coordinator Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated Doorways Coordinator to join our team at The Salvation Army in Melbourne, AU.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the delivery of Doorways Services such as financial emergency relief and manage the Doorways volunteer workforce on site.
  • Work collaboratively with Corps Officers, Volunteers, and other co-located Mission Leaders to deliver Doorways at the local site.
  • Reduce high conflict situations through the use of de-escalation/crisis communication skills.
  • Ensure best practice food storage and health and safety is embedded at the site, reflecting the Doorways Model of Care.
  • Build capacity of Doorways volunteers ensuring they are working in accordance with the Doorways Model of Care and support with induction and training as required.

Requirements:

  • Degree level qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or other Community/Human Services discipline (highly desirable).
  • Diploma and minimum of 2 years relevant experience in the community services sector.
