We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at Casa Bar and Restaurant. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for managing the overall operations of the kitchen, ensuring the highest quality of food and exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the kitchen team, including cooks, wait staff, and kitchen hands, to ensure efficient and effective food preparation and service.
- Determine menu offerings and create decorative food displays to enhance the dining experience.
- Inspect raw ingredients to ensure quality and usability, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Plan and prepare menus, recipes, and task sheets, and manage budgeting and cost controls.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and training to kitchen staff, and utilize kitchen utensils, appliances, and cookware to prepare ingredients and meals.
- Meet with customers to discuss menu options for special occasions, and monitor and regulate heat and cold sources to ensure food quality.
- Maintain product, service, and market knowledge, and take pride in food presentation while ensuring top quality of food.
- Take feedback from customers and work with management to improve efficiency, quality, and productivity of food.
- Manage storage, food preservation, and serving and portioning foods, and add garnishes and other ingredients as necessary to ensure dishes are well presented.
- Prepare and flavor sauces with condiments, herbs, spices, and other ingredients as required by the recipe, and follow safety and hygiene regulations and procedures around food handling, storage, and preparation.
- Ensure the cleanliness of workstations and kitchen areas, and abide by occupational health and safety procedures.
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a Chef.
- Relevant Qualification in Commercial Cookery.
- Supervisory skills.
- Confident approach and results-driven.
- Flexibility with hours and approach.
- Good communication and technology skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure to deliver timely and quality results.
Salary range between $70,000 to $85,000 plus superannuation will be paid based on experience and skills to deserving candidates.
