Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic engagement plans to build strong relationships with communities and stakeholders.
  • Lead a team to deliver engagement strategies, including developing systems and processes, managing community and stakeholder engagement activities, and events.
  • Represent and present AusNet's position on priority and emerging issues to communities and the Energy sector.
  • Provide timely advice to our Corporate Affairs and Communications team, ensuring media releases and responses, speeches, and FAQs are relevant, accurate, and consistent in messaging.
  • Create and deliver a proactive narrative around energy infrastructure to effectively communicate to key stakeholders, reduce risk, and clarify AusNet's objectives.
  • Lead the development of a one AusNet approach to Community and Stakeholder Engagement by creating a Centre of Excellence for the organization.
  • Lead research and analysis activities, leveraging data and analytics to identify changes in stakeholder and community attitudes, and effectively target communications and influence the direction of current and future strategies and programs.
Requirements
  • Tertiary degree (Bachelor level) or relevant experience in a Community and Stakeholder Engagement or Communications role.
  • Community Engagement Qualification, such as IAP2 certification.
  • Diploma or Masters of Project Management, Certificate IV Safety.
  • Proven experience in a Community and Stakeholder Engagement or Communications role.
  • Multi-discipline experience, including corporate communications, stakeholder relations, marketing communications.
  • Experience in leading project or specialist function activities.
  • Relevant experience gained within major organizations, including the Energy sector, government, or consultancy.
  • Relevant experience in critical capital infrastructure projects ($1Bn+).
